ABOUT THE RETREAT
The Retreat at Angel Fire is the perfect place to get away and recharge. The Retreat offers 12 acres of beautiful New Mexico wilderness at your fingertips. On a long morning walk, you will come across a sweet family of deer grazing, maybe some turkeys settling in for the morning, and you will be able to hear nothing but birds and the sounds of nature. We specialize in helping families recharge and reconnect, step away from the cell phones and get connected face to face. Board games, long walks, fishing, horseback riding, skiing; the options are endless of what to do here at The Retreat, your family will reconnect in a snap.
Additionally, Taos and Red River are each a 45 minute drive from us, respectively. They offer the charm of a small town with activities for the whole family.
Hiking
We have a great hiking trail located right off the back of the retreat's property that connects to the "Lady Slipper Trail" that goes around to Monte Verde Lake. There are also other trails that you can hike in and around Angel Fire, from easy walking trails to more challenging trails.
River Rafting
River rafting is available in Taos, a short 45 minute drive away from us. Taos offers white water rafting on the Rio Grande Gorge.
Skiing
The Angel Fire Ski Resort (3 miles from us) offers skiing and snow-boarding.They offer lessons for the first timers and also have expert trails for the more seasoned skiers. In the Spring and Summer they offer chairlift rides, zip-lining and the mountain bike trails are open. The Resort holds many different events through out the Ski season including the annual Snow Shovel Race.
We have many other activities available here in Angel Fire, from horse back rides and sleigh rides, to ATV and snowmobile tours! Even fishing trips!
